人と組織 / People and organization

昨日のランチはしゃちょーと。しゃちょーは穏やかなイギリス人。ランチを食べながら、日本が大好きだという彼に、何が好きなの？と聞いた人がいた。「人が好き」と彼は答えた。アメリカやイギリスは人が「アグレッシブ」。日本人はとてもゆったりしていている。彼は続けた。「人が国を作る。そういう日本人が、日本という国を作っている。私は日本人の国民性が好きで、だから日本が大好きだ」。組織もそうだと彼は言っていた。うちの会社が居心地がいいのは、それを作っている人がいいからなんだな。最近転職したばかりなので、そこに入ることができた事は、とても光栄だ。

他にもこれからの方向性の話、文化の話、休暇の話なんかをした。食事のシチュエーションでは、その時の会話や記憶が大切だ。それも味を決める要素になる。また社長とランチに行こう。

My colleagues and I had a lunch with our president.  Our president, a gentle man,  came from GB 20 years ago and has loved living in Japan so much.  One of my colleague asked him what is the most impressive point for him about Japan.  "It's nationality of Japanese", he replied.  He explained American and British are more aggressive than Japanese, by mentioning about the situation of the big earthquake in 2011.  He continued his explanation as follows; "The country is made of people.  I love nationality of Japanese and that's why I love Japan.".  That must be same as organization.  I was confident that's why I feel good in our company.  There are so many good colleagues in our company.  I have just changed my job and I'm very proud of joining them. 

We talked about our company's future, culture, vacation, and so on.  I believe the conversation and memories during a meal are part of essence for wonderful dishes.  We had a wonderful time yesterday.  I'm looking forward to having lunch with him again!
